Muir Woods National Monument & Stinson Beach

Muir Woods National Monument & Stinson Beach
Todd Swank's Diary Entry for July 1, 2016

Back in San Francisco on the 6th day of our California vacation, we suddenly had the urge to go see some big trees.  So over the Golden Gate Bridge We Go!

There's some big trees over there!

We were at the Muir Woods National Monument!  We came here to see the Redwood Trees. They are known for their height and are related to the giant sequoia of the Sierra Nevada. The tallest tree in the Muir Woods is 258 feet.  That's pretty tall.

I had to bend my head way back to see the tops of these bad boys.

The kids were so excited to be there!  They love seeing trees.

Pretty soon everyone was pretty tired.  Tree watching takes lots of work.

So we got back in the car and drove through a narrow trail on the side of a cliff until we arrived at Stinson Beach.

It was still too cold to swim or anything, so we just all protected our eyes from the sun and smiled a lot.
